The Ocean Race Museo…
all about one of the most demanding race in the sport since 1973
The Ocean Race Museum is an interactive exhibition that opened in 2012 with the aim of sharing the rich heritage of the history of the race, as well as the technological innovation and human effort that this challenge demands.
The visit is free and includes Race Control, where the boats are monitored during the competition; an innovative centre of technology using the latest satellite communication.
Since 2008, Alicante has been the Start Port of the race, and the city will also host the start of the next two editions.
This temporary exhibition commemorates the 41-year history of Spain’s participation in the toughest ocean race.
Discover the feats of Spanish teams and iconic Spanish sailors like “Chuny” Bermúdez, Juan Vila, Guillermo Altadill or Xavi Fernández; as well as memorabilia from their races around the world.
Take on the experience of living the race as a crew member through our virtual simulator. Feel what it is like to be sailing at 25 knots onboard a race boat.
