Using Public transport to travel can be a challenge because of choosing your route, timetables and different types of transport you may need to choose. For people in a foreign country, the language can be an extra challenge to find out how to go where. This article provides the most relevant information regarding public transport on the Costa Blanca.

Be aware that since the state of alarm has ended, it is obligated by law to use a face mask in any type of public transport, as well in taxis.

There are different ways of public transport available on the Costa Blanca to get yourself to and from the airport to your destination.

Local bus companies offer public transport lines south and north of Alicante city centre and multiple tram-vias and train lines can bring you where you need to go. The map below shows the different options to choose from. (Click to enlarge or print it)

Airport  – Alicante and Elche

Bus line C6 connects the airport with the city centre. A normal ticket will cost 3,85€ and this bus line has a 20-minute interval. The buses of line 1A and 1B travel between Elche and the airport. For more information about these lines of public transport click here.

When arriving or leaving the Costa Blanca by plane or picking up a relative or friend it can be useful to know what time your flight leaves or arrives. Other cities

The airport is also connected by public transport with the towns of Torrellano, Benidorm, Calpe, Santa Pola, Guardamar and Torrevieja, and the city of Murcia, these services are offered by ALSA, check this link for information about timetables and prices.

Alicante public transport (Bus & Tram)

Alicante has a wide variety of local buses (lineas urbanas) that offer a connection between the different parts of the city and its surroundings. This map shows the different lines, and further information on timetables and prices can be found by clicking this link.

Besides the local bus service in Alicante, there is also the tram-via that offers several lines from the centre to the towns north of it, with one line even going as far north as Dénia. These trams are managed by FGV, click this link to visit their website for more information.

 

Benidorm public transport (Bus)

Benidorm is well known as a very touristic destination both for tourist, residents and Spanish habitants to celebrate their holidays, summer or life. Being a buzzing city it also has a fine network of bus lines that connect the different parts of town and the surrounding municipalities.
