The city of sports

Today we spend a day in La Nucia, the town a few kilometers inland from the Mediterranean coast. There is a lot to see and do in La Nucia. For this blog, we highlight some active propositions… and a few German Beers!

How to get to La Nucia?

The town has not got direct access to the Ap-7 motorway because of its location. The best thing you can do is take the Benidorm Levante exit. From there use the N-332 junction to direct yourself to the CV-70. This is a two-lane road full of roundabouts, that leads to La Nucia. If you come from Altea you can drive the CV-760 to town. However, if you come from Alfaz del Pi use the CV-763 to get there.

What to see and do in La Nucia?

Many people know La Nucia is a village that is very sport-minded. For many years the town hall has invested lots of time, energy and resources in creating various places to practice many different sorts of sports.

Ciudad Deportivo Camilo Cano

This municipal sports complex has grown over the last years and the town hall keeps investing in it. Because of that, the city of La Nucia is also known as “The City of Sports”. There are football pitches with natural and artificial grass, beach soccer and volleyball courts, a tennis court, a skate park and lots more. Many European sports clubs visit the complex to practice or compete in their leagues during the year. If you like sports yourself or if you want your kids to do more sport, visit the sports complex’ website and find out more.

Forestalpark La Nucia

Do you want to take your children or friends to do something extraordinary? Take them to the adventure park “Tirolinas Go!” in La Nucia. Not far from the sports complex, in the Carrer de Guadalest, you can fly from tree to tree on various zip lines. Some of them are up to 300 meters long and others are double lines. A fun activity that is another way of doing sports in nature and that is completely free of any CO2 emissions. Do it with friends, family, kids or work colleagues.. it is definitely worth a shot!

Oktoberfest La Nucia 2020!

After so many sport and activities there must also be time for relaxation. The town hall of La Nucia is happy to announce that this year’s edition of the Oktoberfest will be celebrated in the town. Over the last years, this festival of German origin was held in Calpe. There it grew from a small party into a massive festival visited by 35.000 people that consumed 18.000 liters of beer. This year they serve the Bavarian Salchicas, Codillo, Chucrut, and beer from the 1st to the 12th of October on the parking of the Ciudad Deportivo Camillo Cano.
