What to do in Costa Blanca when it rains? We think indoor activities are preferred for a lot of people. The cold season is slowly approaching and this means it can get chilly, windy and some days it may even rain, even though Costa Blanca is well-known for its beautiful weather and many sandy and white pebble beaches. There are lots of museums and other places to visit such as Tapas street or the Casino in Benidorm, or maybe a museum or Spa in Altea when you want a different day out with your relatives.

There will be a lot of things to do and places to discover on a rainy day as well. You can for example visit;

Moors & Christians museum in Altea

Most people have heard of or seen a Moors & Christians parades in one of the towns on the Costa Banca. During each town’s patron festivities, the locals honor their history and parade the main street all fantastically dressed in spectacular costumes. Marching bands that play impressive music accompany them. The town of Altea decided to dedicate an exhibition to these fantastic outfits, and that is how the museum came to life. It can be visited on the first floor of the cultural center/library at the end of the main shopping street. Outfits from the last 35 years are on display and show how this local fiesta evolved.

The museum opens Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 14.00 hrs and from 17.00 to 21.30 hrs.

Tapas street in Benidorm

Take advantage of a rainy day to visit a place that is normally crowded.

Without a doubt, one of the busiest streets in Benidorm, on a sunny day. The Tapas street in the old town of Benidorm. It is right in the area between Levante and Poniente Beach. This tapas street, which is partly covered, is home to a variety of many tapas restaurants where they serve the best type of finger food you can taste. They mix typical Spanish tastes with Mexican and French flavors in the many restaurants that fill the street. And come rain come sun, this street is always buzzing with people and activity.

Casino Benidorm

If you want to spend a different kind of day and spend a bit of money then this is the place to be. Casino Mediterráneo Benidorm opened its doors in 2014 on the Avenida del Mediterráneo. Since then it has become a meeting point in the Rincon de Loix. They have Roulette and Black Jack tables and different sorts of gaming machines. As well as an area with sports betting machines and large televisions. And if you think you are good at Poker you can participate in one of the weekly and monthly tournaments they organize.

The address of the Casino is Avenida del Mediterráneo 55 in Benidorm. During the winter months, it opens from 10.00 to 03.00 hrs from Sundays to Thursdays. Fridays and Saturdays it closes an hour later at 04.00 hrs.

Villa Gadea Spa

If you want to relax, for no reason or after doing one of the above activities, you could visit a Spa. One of our readers visited one and mentioned this great way to spend a rainy and cold day indoors.
